It’s was our 2nd stay at The Chedi and that’s because we had such a wonderful stay last year too. It’s pretty perfect. Everything from the staff, food & beverage, facilities and location. We will definitely return.

My only thought would be the board options. We had B&B last year and 1/2 board this year. Make sure when you dine you ask to view the full menu. At this time the 1/2 board is a little restricted in their options but I know they’re going to address this. The chiefs are absolutely so talented and experienced that you really want to experience the full menu’s…..

Wonderful experience at the Chedi El Gouna. I knew very well The Chedi brand, and wanted to try out the new hotel at Red Sea. The check-in did not start great, as my request for 2 separate beds I made through Booking.com was not received at the hotel. Next morning, this was sorted promptly and we got a gorgeous beach front room with 2 beds. A huge shout out to the hotel staff. Wonderful throughout, cleaning team, restaurant staff, beach staff! The property is beautiful, in stylish brown and beige colors. Location is great, as you can easily and safely walk to El Gouna center, with a promenade full of restaurants, cafes, shops, supermarkets, pharmacy. All you want is there. We also had BBQ dinner at the Chedi and it was great.

The beach was windy when we where there (the staff does bring you windbreakers next to the sunchairs) and the entrance to the water is a bit pebbly. Still fully enjoyed the beach and the privacy feeling.

Cosy hotel, very helpful staff, excellent location to discover El Gouna.

restaurant prices are too high but there are lots of good restaurants just outside the hotel

Staff is very friendly and professional

We loved the most that The Chedi El Gouna creates an atmosphere that lets you instantly forget the bleak winter days and invites you to embrace ‘la dolce far niente’ to recharge your batteries. The quality of service, food and SPA is remarkable and fulfills the expectation of a 5-star hotel. The staff is friendly, helpful, and contributes significantly to the relaxing atmosphere. We take the opportunity to thank namely the personnel for housekeeping Alaa Salah, Pool waiter Mostafa Refaie ( fast like the wind), Pool boy Mohamed Taher, Beach House Waiter Hedra Romany and last but not least our wonderful waiters of the restaurant Ahmed 007 and Karim Mohamad. Especially Karim does a terrific job! Shukran! (We were for 9 nights in Feb 2023 in the junior garden suite)

There is one thing that could be optimized... there is no possibility to change the blowing direction of the AC, which blows relatively strong at the lowest levels in the direction of the bed

We’ve spent nine nights in the Chedi el Gouna in February. The location of the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are wonderfully arranged and the hotel was clean and felt luxurious. El Gouna downtown is a 10min walk away from the Chedi, but there’s also buses, taxis and tuk-tuks available. What really took the crown of our stay was the fantastic staff all around the Chedi hotel – we’ve never experienced friendliness like this in a hotel before. Everybody made sure that we feel welcome and we’d like to especially mention the following employees: Hedra – we’ve met him during our first dinner at the hotel and he was not only extremely competent but an amazing entertainer, too! We loved his friendly remarks and jokes and whenever we’ve encountered him during our stay, he was happy to take the time to have a chat with us and made sure we have everything we need. Mohamed – he’s the personal trainer in the Chedi’s own gym. He made sure we get all the support and tips we need during our workouts and was kind enough to share his extensive knowledge in sports and nutrition with us. You can tell that he’s a top athlete and an even great coach. You can book a session with him (for 450 L.E. if I’m not mistaken) which is a fantastic deal and we’d highly recommend it to anybody interested in sports. Ali – he was the housekeeper responsible for our room. Our room was always very clean and tidied up. He worked with a love for detail and you can tell that he enjoyed his work. Most of the days, he would stop by some time after his cleaning service to make sure that everything was fine for us and that we felt comfortable in our room. He’s an extremely kind and professional person. Esra and her staff – Esra greeted us every morning when we went for breakfast in the Chedi’s restaurant. She’s one of the friendliest persons we’ve encountered during our stay and took great care of us every morning.

The staff at the reception were non professional in my opinion. They were rude and not welcoming at all. The Hotel is proposing a taxi service on their website which was extremely bad (the driver got was not driving safely and got lost 2 times on the way from the airport to the hotel. I had to use google map myself to find the hotel). Finally the staff in charge of activities such as scuba diving options was treating us like idiots and did provide options that was twice the price of what we found ourselves in 10 minutes (clearly it was not an advantage to be in the hotel to do scuba diving in the area!!) Long story short we didn’t felt welcome at all and certainly will never come back in this hotel.
